CARE International Sends Emergency Medical Assistance to Gaza Hospitals

Gaza. Maan. CARE International is in the process of sending emergency medical supplies to Gaza Hospitals. The first shipment will arrive on Monday 2 June 2008, with funding from the Foreign Ministry of Germany and CARE Germany.
The medical supplies will support seven hospitals in the Gaza Strip: Al-Shifa, Kamal Adwan, Beit Hanoun, Al-Aqsa, Al-Nasr, European Hospital, and Abu Yusef Al-Najjar.
The shipment consists of 34 types of basic medicines and 37 types of supplies not available in the Gaza Strip. The medicine will assist cancer patients, those with infections, and contagious or chronic diseases. Approximately 70,000 persons will benefit from the medical supplies that will be distributed by the end of June.
The German assistance package seeks to help Gaza hospitals maintain the basic services uninterrupted.
