Gaza. Palestinian sources said that four hospitals in the Gaza Strip received medicine and supplies, worth approximately 200 thousand dollars, from CARE International in order to end the siege on the Palestinian people.
Supplies were distributed to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, Naser Hospital in Khan Yunis, Abu Yusef Al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah, and Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al-Balah.
The four hospitals are vital in providing medical services in the Gaza Strip, and they are helping approximately 150 thousand patients annually. The health sector in Gaza is in severe crisis, because of the shortage in medicine and medical equipment. At the same time, equipment is not functioning because there are no spare parts or maintenance tools. Lately some units in the hospitals could no longer offer services, so they stopped taking in patients. Medicine and supplies from CARE International will meet the needs in Gaza hospitals for approximately three months.
