CARE Completes Construction of Water Well in Baqa Al-Sharqiya

Tulkarem. Al-Hayat Al-Jadida. CARE International and the European Commission’s Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid celebrated yesterday the completed rehabilitation of Im Shams water well, near the southern entrance of Baqa Al-Sharqiya, as part of the water and sanitation project implemented in the West Bank by CARE.

Jamal Mohammad Saeed, Deputy Governor of Tulkarem attended the ceremony, in addition to Moayad Hussein, Mayor of Baqa Al-Sharqiya, and they both spoke about the importance of this project for Al-Sharawiyeh area, and they said the area is under siege by the occupation that impedes development of agricultural projects.

Approximately 4,800 persons will benefit from the rehabilitated well, including 150 farmers, and 50 nearby homes in Baqa Al-Sharqiya, Atteel, Iqaba, Thahr Al-‘Abed, Um Dar, Al-Khouljan, and Barta’.
